I honestly have not used Xenu’s Link Sleuth yet, but what’s cool about this tool is that it can check image paths. I have recently used LinkTiger, it scans CSS, and some MS office file for broken links too. Thanks for sharing.

Just wanted to thank you for this information. Last month after my site had been gaining visitors I saw a sudden drop in my rankings.I read everything on penalties went back and made lots of changes. The URL’s were still there but not showing up in search results. Found this spam detector which reported possible keyword stuffing issues. After disecting a few of my post down to nothing and still having issues went to my SEO pluggins. I’m new at SEO so I don’t know if it was a combination of things but once I removed keyword meta tags in my Yoast SEO pluggin 3 hours later after being recrawled my post were back at the top.Hopefully this might help someone else if they run into the same issue as myself.

Hi,

My site findusedheavymachinery.com is performing well all home page keywords are at top ranking. Suddenly the ranking falls down & my site is no where on my title.

Please help me is this a Google penalty because when I search in tool on your site it shows no Google penalty. If the site is not penalized then why my site is not in ranking by its own title previously it was at the top.

Thanks for this article. Recently one of my websites were banned due to spamming on status.net with the link. I hired a SEO guy to build backlinks and he spammed on status.net and other social media. This resulted in a google penalty for one of my domains.

Moreover, you should never-ever, try to build backlinks for a new website. Wait for atleast 1 month until you start building legit backlinks.
